The individual dive site (listed below) is not chosen until on the day.
A favourite among many, the wreck lays in 10m of water and provides a habitat for a wide variety of marine life; from sponges and corals to Wobbegong shark, octopus and rays. Sunk in 1887 having run aground, the bow and stern are both reasonably intact, however the side plates and decks have since collapsed, and the cargo of sewing machines, whisky and beer has long since gone.
Covering a large area, consisting of rock that’s been overgrown by soft corals and sponges, this partly shallow reef provides a fantastic habitat for all sorts of marine life. During the summer months look out for Leopard sharks.
Located nearby to the Scottish Prince Shipwreck and Greta’s Reef, this rocky reef is 17-18m deep, by 200m x 150m, and consists of boulders and bommies with sandy patches separating them. The marine life is diverse, including big schools of small fish, Wobbegong sharks, rays, sea turtles and at times, the site is known for passing dolphins and bigger sharks, making a surprise visit on the cards.
A hidden gem – the dive site sits in 16-20m of water close to the entrance of the seaway, consisting of several long boulders that run parallel to each other and several colourful bommies. The rocky reef has a variety of marine life including nudibranchs, feather stars, flat head, sole, moray eels, lionfish and much more. Feeding dolphins and sharks are frequent sightings.
This large dive site consists mainly of coffee rock and is broken up into several sections. The largest section in the centre offers a great playground for marine life with a depth range of 18-21m. The marine life is much the same as other reefs, but this site boasts the best visibility.
