Our professional instructors accompany all dives at no extra charge, ensuring maximum safety and enjoyment. They have intimate local knowledge of the reef systems we visit and are passionate about sharing this! Certified dives last approximately 40 minutes or more.

The Great Barrier Reef is an iconic destination and is a diver’s dream. The warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef, with temperatures ranging from 22-29 Celsius (75-85 Fahrenheit), makes for comfortable scuba diving all year round.

The Great Barrier Reef’s ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of life on this planet including 1,500 species of fish, 400 different kinds of corals, 4000 species of molluscs and 10,000 species of sponges.

Check in at 7:45am at the Quicksilver Office inside the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, 44 Wharf Street Port Douglas. Boarding commences 8:15am, vessel departs at 08:30am

What to Bring:

  • Swimwear and towel
  • Reef safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses (polarised are best) and protective clothing
  • Light jacket/sweater for a cool or windy day
  • Camera/Gro Pro
  • Cash/credit card for drinks at the bar, or additional dives
  • CERTIFICATION CARD for SCUBA

Medication: (If you require to take medication throughout the duration of this tour, please remember to bring this with you. If you deem it necessary, please inform a member of staff, on board your vessel, where within your belongings this can be found).
Seasickness Medication – You may experience seasickness out on the open ocean. We suggest that you should speak with your pharmacist in advance of your trip, to seek their advice on seasickness medication. We will not reschedule bookings or issue refunds for those suffering from seasickness.

 
 Silversonic is a modern, spacious 29 metre high speed catamaran, custom-designed to help you get the best out of your day.
  • State-of-the-art computerised ride control systems mean a smoother ride to the reef.
  • Hydraulic steps with hand rails and a duckboard/platform for easy access into the water.
  • Change rooms/toilets.
  • Warm freshwater showers are provided on the dive deck.
  • Spacious sundecks, air conditioned lounge areas and a licensed bar.
  • Travelling at up to 32 knots, we spend less time getting there which means more time at the Reef for you.
  • For the comfort of all Silversonic is a non-smoking vessel.

Please be aware that the crew reserves the right to prohibit anyone from anyone joining this tour if they deem it unsafe.

You’ll be asked to answer YES or NO to the following. If you answer YES to any of the following, you will be required to consult with a physician prior to participating in scuba diving.

Have you suffered from, or do you now suffer from, any of the following:

  1. Asthma or wheezing
  2. Fainting, seizures or blackouts
  3. Chronic Bronchitis or persistent chest complaints
  4. Chronic sinus conditions
  5. Chest surgery
  6. Recurrent ear problems when flying
  7. Epilepsy
  8. Diabetes Mellitus (sugar diabetes)
  9. Tuberculosis or other long-term lung disease
  10. Brain, spinal cord or nervous disorder
  11. Heart disease of any kind
  12. Collapsed lung (pneumothorax)
  13. Ear Surgery
  14. Are you currently suffering from:
  15. Breathlessness
  16. Chronic Ear Discharge or infection
  17. High Blood Pressure
  18. Perforated eardrum
  19. Other illness or operation within the last month
  20. Are you currently taking any medicine or drug (excluding oral contraceptives)?
  21. Have you ingested any alcohol within the last 8 hours prior to diving?
  22. Are you pregnant?
  23. Do you understand that any concealment of any condition incompatible with safe diving might put your health or life at risk?
  24. Do you understand that you should not go to altitude (fly) within 12 hours of completing a single dive or a minimum of 18 hours when doing multiple dives (recommended 24 hours)?

Cancellations/changes to your booking must be made by contacting the tour provider on your booking confirmation email or by contacting Salty Swims  at info@saltyswims.com.au

Please be aware that refund policies do not cover travel, accommodation or any other associated costs. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover unforeseeable cancellations.

What if the tour provider cancels?
In the event of poor sea conditions, minimum numbers not being reached or for any other reason, the tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour. If your trip cannot be rescheduled to your satisfaction, you will receive a full refund.

What if you cancel?

If you wish to cancel your tour more than 24 in advance of your departure date/time, you will receive 100% of your refund.

Cancellations within 24 hours of the departure date/time will not receive a refund.
