PRICING
Divers are priced the same regardless of their age or certification.

This booking requires a 15% deposit to be paid upon booking, with the remainder paid directly to the tour operator on the day.

Price excludes a $22 Reef tax (per person), payable directly to tour operator on the day.

Price excludes $25 “deep dive training” required for all Open Water divers, payable directly to the tour operator on the day.

ON YOUR DIVE
Year Round; The site is known for its resident giant groupers, sea snakes, marine turtles, bull sharks, eagle rays, giant trevally, barracuda, nannygai and other snappers, emperors and occasionally large manta rays.  At times the fish aggregations are so dense they obscure the wreck.

During the warmer months and rare occasions; Whale sharks feed overhead on the plankton-rich waters, and during the winter months, humpback whales swim close by as they migrate to or from northern calving grounds. 

Open Water Certified Divers + 6 logged dives + Deep Dive Training (this can be completed by upgrading on the following page).

* Corrective Lens Masks may be available to hire (limited availability). Please let us or the tour operator know in advance of your trip.  Alternatively, we recommend that you wear contact lenses or consider purchasing your own prescription mask.

There are facilities to wash your own gear after returning to base.

Exposure Suits: Average Sea Temperatures  21°c – 31°c

QLD regulations: Divers must have a Snorkel, Whistle, Surface Marker Bouy and Computer. 

Please ensure that your equipment is operational and serviced as per the manufacturer’s specifications.

Please be aware that the crew reserves the right to prohibit anyone from entering the water if they deem it unsafe. If any of the below is not found out until on the day, you may not be permitted to join the tour and you may not receive a refund.

• You must be able to speak and understand English to a good standard.
  
  
• You must bring proof of your dive certification.
  
  
• If you have upgraded to Nitrox Tanks, you must bring proof of Nitrox certification.
  
  
• The Experienced divers can choose to dive with a buddy or take a guided tour at no extra cost.
  
  
• Novice divers (< 20 dives) should ensure they have refreshed their skills within the last six months and will be provided with a dive guide. 
  
  
• If the date of your last dive was over two years ago, it’s recommends that you undertake a refresher course with one of their divemasters, the day before the dive.
  
  
• Minimum age – 16 years of age.
  
  
• If have any pre-existing medical conditions, or you have suffered an injury or illness in the last 6 months, then it is important that the tour provider is made aware.
  
  
• If you are taking prescription medication, then you will be required to show a signed doctor’s medical certificate.
  
  
• If you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, unfortunately, you are not able to join this tour.   
  
  

• QLD Regulations state that you must allow a minimum of 24 hours after diving, before you fly.

This trip is subject to sea conditions and minimum numbers. Please call the tour operator between 3:30pm – 5pm on the day before your trip to confirm. 

You will receive a confirmation email upon purchasing this tour which will provide you with all of the relevant information, e.g. CONTACT NUMBERS,  ADDRESS ETC.

Please wear your swimmers ahead of arrival. Certification Card/Proof of Certification, Towel, Water Bottle, Sunscreen (Reef safe, please), warm clothing/ windproof jacket, and polarised sunglasses are recommended for best viewing through the surface of the water.

Seasickness Medication – You may experience seasickness out on the open ocean. We suggest that you should speak with your pharmacist in advance of your trip, to seek their advice on seasickness medication. We will not reschedule bookings or issue refunds for those suffering from seasickness.

“Yongala Express” is a purpose built 10m RIB with twin 250hp outboards ensuring a fast, fun and safe trip out to the wreck at 25 knots. This boat comfortably takes up to 12 guests.

“Ocean Magic” is an 11m Cougar Catamaran, powered by twin 250hp outboards, spacious and comfortable.

Distance to Dive Site: Approximately 12 miles from shore.

Cancellations/changes to your booking must be made in writing directly to Salty Swims – Please contact Salty Swims  via email (info@saltyswims.com.au), or Facebook (via the chat icon linked to this page).

Please be aware that refund policies do not cover travel, accommodation or any other associated costs. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover unforeseeable cancellations.

What if the tour provider cancels?
In the event of poor sea conditions, minimum numbers not being reached or for any other reason, the tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour. If your trip cannot be rescheduled to your satisfaction, you will receive a full refund.

What if you cancel?
If you wish to cancel your booking MORE THAN 48 HOURS from your departure, you’ll receive a full refund.

If you wish to cancel/transfer your booking WITHIN 48 HOURS of your departure, you will not receive a refund.
